Backpack Peoria
Free backpacks, filled with school supplies, distributed to Peoria area children. An EXPO is also held to showcase organizations, ministries and programs within the community.

How to participate
Open to the public; lines begin to form outside the building at 8 AM and doors open at 9 AM. Children ages 5–11 years are provided, at no cost, a backpack filled with elementary school supplies.
Backpacks are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Limit of one backpack per child. Child must be present and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Everyone, regardless of their age, is welcome to attend to walk through the EXPO to obtain information on community social service agencies, organizations, programs and ministries.
Exhibit space is available to all Peoria area organizations, not-for-profits, health care professionals, etc. to promote who they are and what they offer to the community. Set-up for the EXPO will take place between 6:30–8:30 AM, day of the event. Cost to participate is $100 and will be applied toward sponsorship of ten backpacks to be distributed.
How to get involved
To serve as a volunteer to fill backpacks, set-up, greet, pass out backpacks and tear-down; contact our office for details. Individual, family or group volunteers are welcome!.
To partner with DCP, promote the school supply distribution and EXPO to your friends, family, co-workers and church. Invite them to attend and/or participate.
To donate and/or sponsor, you can assist by choosing one of the following sponsorship brackets:

Silver sponsorship entitles recognition in a flier distributed to participants on Backpack Peoria.
Gold sponsorship entitles recognition in a flier distributed to participants of Backpack Peoria, logo display on banner posted day of the even and exhibit booth space at the EXPO.
Platinum sponsorship entitles recognition in a flier distributed to participants of Backpack Peoria, logo display on banner posted day of the event, exhibit booth space at the EXPO and appreciation plaque.
Partner with DCP as a participant in the EXPO. Cost is $100 and goes toward sponsorship of ten backpacks and an 8'x10' space for promotion and distribution of materials, giveaways and handouts.
