Backpack Peoria- July 31, 2010

After a meeting with District 150, we discovered a great need for backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, and physicals. For the past 8 years we have distributed free backpacks to the Peoria area youth. This year we will also provide 1,000 free uniform vouchers for (Sam Harris uniforms) and free physicals and immunizations provided on site by Methodist Hospital.
An EXPO is also held to showcase organizations, ministries and programs within the community. The EXPO provides an excellent opportunity for the participants to discover the programs and services that are available.
In need of gear for your child?
Open to the public; lines begin to form outside the building at 8 AM and doors open at 9 AM. Children going into kindergarten through sixth welcome.
Backpacks and uniform vouchers are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Limit of one backpack and voucher per child. Child must be present and accompanied by an adult.
Everyone, regardless of their age, is welcome to walk through the EXPO to obtain information on community social service agencies, organizations, programs and ministries. This year's expo attendees are:

How to help make this possible
EXPO
To partner with DCP, promote the school supply distribution and EXPO to your friends, family, co-workers and church. Invite them to attend and/or participate.
Partner with DCP as a participant in the EXPO. Cost is $100 and goes toward sponsorship of ten backpacks and an 8'x10' space for promotion and distribution of materials, giveaways and handouts. Contact Christina if your organization would be interested in participating in the expo.
Exhibit space is available to all Peoria area organizations, not-for-profits, health care professionals, etc. to promote who they are and what they offer to the community.
We need your help send a child back to school:
| One child | $30 | = 1 backpack, supplies, and uniform |
| Two children | $60 | = 2 backpacks, supplies, and uniform |
| Four children | $120 | = 4 backpacks, supplies, and uniform |
| One child for a school year | $550 | = Support a child in after school care at Dream Center Peoria for a year |
