Backpack Peoria- July 30, 2011

Ages: Kindergarten- 6th grade

 

After a meeting with District 150, we discovered a great need for backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, and physicals. For the past 9 years we have distributed free backpacks to the Peoria area youth.

 

This year, we will be giving out over 2500 backpacks filled with school supplies and 1000 - $15 uniform gift cards to Sam Harris Uniforms. We are also partnering with Peoria Public Schools District 150, Methodist Medical Hospital, Peoria County Health Department and Familia Dental to provide the opportunity to register for school, get necessary physicals, shots and dental screenings. If you would like to get a physical or shots at Backpack Peoria, please bring your child's medical records.

 

An EXPO is also held to showcase organizations, ministries and programs within the community. The EXPO provides an excellent opportunity for the participants to discover the programs and services that are available.
