History Makers

The Need

Young people are in big need. Growing up, they are surrounded by sin, drug use, and garbage on TV, in movies and on the Internet. Early in life they know much more than any young person should. As a result, we have a broken society, and thousands of broken children living with rage, every sort of perversion, and a devastating loss of hope. We strive to teach our young people to have a vision. Young people are enticed by the glamour and promises of this world. We believe we need to instill in them to be dreamers at a young age, but in a God-given way.

"Where there is no revelation [or vision], the people cast off restraint"(Prov. 29:18) A vision retrains someone from the lures they encounter on a daily basis.

We believe anyone can change. It takes one moment in his or her life to trigger that powerful force in him or her that says, "I can make it and I can become something greater than this." That's why it pays to be faithful. We never know when the day will come that our love or something we say will give them the courage to want to change. We believe man can be awakened, and a powerful counterforce can come against the despair that has prevailed for too long. We believe in building relationship with the families, starting with the kids and youth. Ultimately the power of God changes the lives of the youth and families.

What We Provide

Dream Center Peoria is dedicated to provide year round programming and activities to youth ages 6-17, with programs such as History Makers (our after school program), summer camp, and UCON. We seek to build long-term relationships with the parents as the youth continually attend our programs, dream dreams, empower those dreams, and achieve them.

We provide a save environment to the youth, mentorship, homework help, tutoring, lifeskills, and many other various activites through the school year.

Help us give hope to a generation of hopelessness through activites such as after school programs, concerts, motivational speakers, outings and so much more!

Invest in a child with a simple gift of $30 a month. Put a child in weekend activities, summer camp, and ready for school for one year with a gift of $550.
