Mission Peoria- July 26-31, 2010

A weeklong mission trip for church youth groups in Junior-High and High-School. This year, well over 200 youth will be traveling from throughout Illinois to participate and give back to the community. The youth will serve local agencies by cleaning graffiti off of lockers at Manual High School, painting of a home in the area and much more. They'll serve the local neighborhoods each afternoon. They'll provide activities, music, games, and stories for the children between 3- 5 p.m. Before they leave saturday, they'll serve the community at large by helping out at BackPack Peoria.

BackPack Peoria- July 31, 2010

On Saturday, July 31st, Dream Center Peoria (DCP) is helping Peoria's youth gear up for the school year, with their 9th Annual Backpack Peoria event. DCP is able to impact more students by their partnership with area churches, organizations, and Peoria Public School District 150, businesses and individuals. Our partnerships and donations make it possible to provide 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, 1,000 uniform vouchers for free uniforms from Sam Harris and free physicals and immunizations provided on site by Methodist Hospital.

Are you Looking to Volunteer with or Mentor Youth?

Our Youth Facility has finally opened and programs for youth are running and we need volunteers. If you are looking to volunteer, please contact Robbie. Current programs include homework and tutoring, computers, 4H, Girl Scouts, and athletics.

In order to serve our clients better, we need these items in the HOPE Store.

• Diapers of any size

• Baby wipes

• Shampoo & Conditioner

• Soap

• Shavers & Shaving Cream

• Kleenex

• Toilet Tissue

• Bedding (Blankets of any size, sheets of any size, pillows, pillow Cases)

• Towels (Bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes, dish towels)

You can drop any of these items off in the Dream Center office on the second floor of 714 Hamilton Blvd. Thank you!
