In Your Words

“What I thought was small, was really the greatest of all. I just gave a small amount of time, and some furniture that wasn’t even mine.”

“Last year as I was involved with DCP Faith Warehouse, taking furniture into homes in need. I realized that little things, like our time, and love, and giving of ourselves do make a great impact. My first time out to deliver, we went into Taft Homes to deliver a couch and chair to a home that had nothing. Something I always took for granted… furniture. As I saw the look on the childrens faces as they received these items, they couldn’t wait to sit down on them. It reminded me of how my children act on Christmas morning. A four and eight year old child touched my partner and I that afternoon, and we haven’t been the same since. See, what I thought was small, was really the greatest of all. I just gave a small amount of time, and some furniture that wasn’t even mine. They were blessed and so were we, and it was then I knew we were onto something bigger than we know here. I realize that our time, more than anything else is what reaches people, being consistent, being Jesus, just being there at all.”
